Do you have cutlery, crockery & glassware?
No, we do not provide these, hirers are asked to provide their own.
Are there any restrictions on booking?
You must be a minimum of 21 years of age to make a booking.
Am I allowed to sell alcohol at my event?
Yes, however, you will need a liquor license. Rules around alcohol in centers change regularly so we advise you to check with Auckland Council regarding an appropriate licence for your function. Go to the Auckland Council website for information about applying for a special licence for your event.
What about cleaning the hall after use?
You are expected to leave the hall in a clean and tidy state, as you found it. In some instances, where there are larger functions particularly with food and alcohol being served, we will require a professional floor and surface clean after hire, which we organise, there is a $150 fee for this.
We will discuss this with you when you book. Are there noise restrictions?
The hall is situated in an area where there are some residential properties, we do expect hirers to respect that fact and ask that noise from amplifiers and loudspeakers is kept to a moderate level at all times. In addition keep noise to a minimum when leaving the venue. No music after midnight. Refer to your contract for specific information.
What about car parking?
We have 75 allocated car parking spaces at the rear of the hall, there are additional spaces available on Baldhill Road and at the front of the hall. You are asked to be mindful of local neighbours when parking on Baldhill Road and not to block driveways and access, especially for emergency vehicles.
Do I have to book for functions in advance?
Yes, the hall is popular, especially at weekends.
Can I use the sound system in the hall?
Yes you can. There is an additional charge so let us know at the time of booking what you require.
Do I have to remove rubbish?
Yes, you have to remove all rubbish from the hall both inside & out including recycling, we do not have a rubbish collection facility. What is the hall capacity for the number of people who can attend functions?
The maximum capacity allowed in the hall by regulation is 500. This does not apply to all functions and needs to be discussed with the bookings officer when making an enquiry. Limitations will be applied due to the availability of tables & chairs and the type of function.
Are we required to have security?
Security guards from a registered security company will be required for some functions involving alcohol, socials, or at the discretion of Hall Committee. This will be discussed on booking.
Can I fix things to the walls or floors?
Please check with us if you want to attach things to the walls or floors and we can discuss with you if this is possible. It varies subject to what you want to attach and how you propose to do it.
can we drink the tap water at the hall?
The hall water is not safe to drink as it is tank water and is not treated. Please supply drinking water as required for your guests

we do not provide decorations or table & chair covers. there are a number of specialist companies in and around Auckland who can provide these things for you at a cost.
Do you have WiFi at the hall?
We do not have WiFi access at the hall.
Can we stay in the hall overnight?
The hall is not covered, from a fire, insurance or health and safety, for overnight stays. You will need to make alternative arrangements.
